AIM OF THE AMENDMENT
The aim of Eickhout’s amendment is to stop EU subsidies for the breeding and rearing of bulls used for lethal bull fighting activities.
THE PROCEDURE
Initially the bullfighting amendment was adopted by a great majority in the Environment Committee of the European Parliament, but in September the Budget Committee rejected it. Eickhout will therefore re-table his objection during the Plenary on the 22nd OF OCTOBER. This means that all MEPs will have to vote on it. The Greens will demand a roll call vote, in order find out who votes against and who votes in favour of bullfighting.
